Role Description The Principal Staging Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Portland, OR, responsible for leading the creative vision and execution of home staging projects from concept to completion. This role oversees property assessments, develops staging plans, selects furnishings and décor, and directs installation to ensure each space is visually compelling and aligned with market trends. The Principal Staging Designer collaborates closely with homeowners, real estate agents, and internal team members to understand project goals, manage timelines, and deliver consistently high-quality results. Day-to-day responsibilities include site visits, floor plan and layout development, sourcing and inventory coordination, styling for photography and showings, and quality control across all staged properties. The role also contributes to process improvements, vendor relationships, and brand standards to support the continued growth and reputation of Greylyn Wayne.
Qualifications
- Deliver consistent, detail-driven, stages with minimal corrections or rework.
- Mentor Junior Staging Designers and Staging Assistants and help elevate the team's work.
- Demonstrated expertise in home staging and interior design, including space planning, color theory, and furniture and décor selection.
- Strong visual and creative skills, with the ability to translate market and client needs into cohesive design concepts that enhance property appeal.
- Hands-on execution skills, such as styling for photography, directing movers and installation teams, and maintaining staging inventory organization.
- Comfort working in physically active on-site environments, including frequent property visits, lifting and moving furnishings, and adapting to changing site conditions.
- Relevant experience in residential home staging, interior design, or related fields; portfolio demonstrating completed projects strongly preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for local site visits in the Portland, OR area.
- Represent Greylyn Wayne with professionalism, design excellence and care.
