Commercial Cabinet Drafter & Estimator

Position Overview

Greyloch is looking for a detail-oriented Commercial Cabinet Drafter & Estimator to support our commercial cabinetry projects from initial bid through project approval and production. This position will review architectural drawings, prepare estimates, develop detailed cabinet drawings, and assemble submittal packages to ensure our cabinetry meets project specifications and design requirements.

The ideal candidate has experience with architectural or millwork drawings, understands commercial construction documents, and can coordinate technical details with our internal team, particularly the Commercial Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Estimating: Review project plans and specifications to prepare accurate material and labor estimates for commercial cabinetry projects.
• Architectural Plan Review: Interpret architectural drawings, elevations, details, and specifications to identify cabinet requirements, dimensions, materials, and project scope.
• Cabinet Drafting: Create detailed cabinet sections, elevations, and drawings that clearly communicate cabinet construction, dimensions, materials, hardware, and installation requirements.
• Submittal Packages: Prepare and organize professional shop drawing and product submittal packages for review and approval by architects, general contractors, and project teams.
• Specification Review: Verify cabinet designs and proposed materials comply with project specifications and applicable requirements.
• Project Coordination: Work closely with the Commercial Project Manager to review project requirements, clarify drawing details, communicate revisions, and ensure estimates, drawings, and submittal packages align with project needs and deadlines.
• Revision Management: Incorporate drawing revisions and track changes throughout the approval process.
• Production Handoff: Ensure approved drawings and project details are complete and accurate before releasing work to production.

Qualifications

• Experience in cabinet drafting, architectural drafting, commercial millwork, or a related field.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, construction documents, and specifications.
• Proficiency with CAD drafting software, including AutoCAD and/or Cabinet Vision.
• Strong understanding of cabinet construction, materials, hardware, and detailing.
• Ability to prepare accurate estimates from project drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Experience with commercial casework, AWI standards, and construction submittal processes is a plus.
