Detailed Job Description: The Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) is used by State Police forensic labs for tracking of all forensic evidence including Toxicology. The design of toxicology functions in LIMS requires upgrades and improvements such as more effective case flow, statistical and epidemiologic reporting and replacement of other toxicology reports. The candidate will be participate in conducting analysis interviews with the users to understand what currently exists and what is needed. The candidate will then gather and document functional and technical requirements as well as create mock reports to be reviewed by the business. Once the requirements and report design have been signed off by the user, the candidate will develop complex Crystal Reports based on Oracle data, develop and update test cases/scripts and perform system testing, create a User Acceptance Test plan and coordinate User Acceptance testing. The candidate will also provide knowledge transfer to state staff in order to implement and support technical solutions. Collaboration with Information Technology Services staff, Forensic lab staff and the LIMS vendor will be required. The candidate will be expected to participate in status review meetings and provide monthly reports.
