About The Role:
The client is looking for a highly analytical, disciplined Senior Controller who thrives in structured environments and brings clarity, accuracy, and consistency to financial operations. This individual is process-driven, detail-oriented, and comfortable enforcing controls while calmly challenging assumptions and identifying risk through data and logic. The Senior Controller is a key financial leader responsible for the strategic direction, execution, and continuous improvement of accounting, financial reporting, and financial systems functions. This role oversees day-to-day finance operations while serving as a strategic business partner to the General Manager and leadership team, supporting scalable growth, operational efficiency, and strong financial governance.
The individual in this role establishes and enforces robust financial policies, internal controls, and reporting processes, while leading and developing a multi-disciplinary team across accounting and information systems. This role plays a critical part in driving financial discipline, improving data visibility, and supporting long-term business planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all daily accounting operations including general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes.
- Maintain integrity of the general ledger and reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly.
- Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and ad hoc analysis.
- Ensure accurate Bills of Materials, labor, overhead, freight, and supply chain costing.
- Establish, monitor, and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Oversee corporate, sales & use, and payroll tax compliance.
- Act as primary liaison with external accounting firms, auditors, and tax advisors.
- Provide leadership and oversight of Oracle NetSuite and related financial systems.
- Develop and lead AP, AR, Accounting, Staff Accounting, and Information Systems teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or MBA preferred but not required.
- Minimum 10 years progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
- Manufacturing cost accounting experience.
- Oracle NetSuite experience preferred.
