Position Title: Operations Assistant Delivery
Primary purpose and function of position: Drivers will drive the truck over established routes to deliver beer and non-alcoholic products. Support all other warehouse operations as needed.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operates various sized trucks
- Unload product from truck onto a hand truck or other material handling equipment
- Rotate and deliver product where customer requests at retail establishment
- Pickup pallets, cooperage or damaged/ unsold product
- Make payment collection, record transaction and reconcile daily receipts on paper invoices or handheld computer
- Stack and separate empty kegs and pallets
- Communicates with supervisor, customers and co-workers during the delivery process
- Work as Loader, Warehouseman, or Merchandiser when necessary
- Comply with all Wholesaler Equity Agreement requirements, Grey Eagle and supplier standards and policies
- Adhere to all Federal, State and Local liquor regulations
- Repack damaged product to meet Grey Eagle and supplier standards
- Detect and gather damaged packages in warehouse for repack
- Clean and inspect packages prior to repackaging in accordance to supplier standards
- Maintain and communicate repack material and supply-needs to Warehouse Manager
- Collect and recycle office materials
- Responsible for outside facility cleanliness
- Record and maintain out of code product in compliance with supplier requirements, standards & policies
- Ability to safely operate job related equipment
- Build product orders and/or make emergency deliveries
- Maintain warehouse product rotation standards
- Perform merchandising activities in retail accounts and provide other Sales & Marketing Team support as directed
- Other duties assigned
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
- Adhere to all Department of Transportation regulations
- Must have the ability to read, write and follow instructions
- Project a friendly, courteous and professional image
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent customer orientation with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Highly self-motivated with a positive attitude
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to meet physical requirements of the job including, but not limited to: repetitively handling cases of beer, reaching above head height, climbing, bending, twisting, squatting, and kneeling
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push or pull package product weighing 50 plus pounds and draught product weighing 165 plus pounds
- Regular and reliable attendance required
- Valid driver license and safe driving record
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and some holidays as needed
- Ability to pass a required pre-employment physical, background, and drug screening
- Ability to perform all essential job functions and duties as assigned
