The Assistant Shop Mechanic is a full-time, on-site position located in Shakopee, MN. The role involves assisting with the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of shop equipment and tools, ensuring all machinery operates safely and efficiently. Daily tasks include preventive maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting issues, and repairing heavy equipment as needed. The Assistant Shop Mechanic will work closely with the shop team to support the smooth operation of equipment crucial to the company’s construction projects.
- Proficiency in Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance, and general Maintenance & Repair tasks
- Experience with Heavy Equipment, including operation, care, and repair
- Strong Troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve mechanical and technical issues
- Ability to follow safety protocols and contribute to a safe working environment
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, carrying, and operating heavy tools and equipment
- Previous experience in a similar role or vocational/technical training is preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- High school diploma or GED required
