- Providing leadership to school leaders using articulated and measurable standards; advancing the district's vision for supervision and support for professional administrators in site management; ensuring a positive climate for staff that values shared decision making, and fosters innovation, collegiality, and ethical leadership; supporting and implementing the District's Equity Policy.
- Collaborating with the Teaching and Learning Department in strengthening the instructional practices of professional educators; ensuring a culture of high expectation for students, which provides equitable access to high-quality and culturally relevant instruction; establishing and monitoring site-based implementation of the operational and instructional vision and focused plans for improving student achievement while narrowing the disparities between the highest and lowest performing students.
- Coaching and supervising administrators: As a component of the position, the Director meets with administrators to effectively support them in the District. In this role, support is provided with the use of the evaluation system, timelines, and essential evaluation-related forms, as well as district-wide systems and the regular challenges of leading a building.
- Investigations: works closely with the Human Resources Department and supports building principals and assistant principals in the complaint process and staff investigations. This includes providing support with contractual language, organizing and structuring investigations, and completing summary documents related to the complaint process.
- Athletics and Activities Oversight: Provides oversight and support to building leaders for 6-12 grade athletics and activities, including budget management, Title IX compliance, complaint resolution, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. Serves as a liaison between the district and community athletic/activities organizations.
- Coordination with our Safety and Security department to support and manage school events and ensure comprehensive safety protocols are in place for all school-sponsored activities.
