What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Dentist - Private Practice Mentorship + Advanced Procedures position at Gresham Advanced Dentistry?
Associate Dentist - Private Practice Mentorship Advanced Procedures
We are a single-location private dental practice in the Portland Metro Area (Gresham, OR) seeking a full-time Associate Dentist to join us 4 days per week, with a target start date in June 2026.
This is not an unproven associate role. We are replacing a busy, long-time associate doctor who is moving out of state for family-related reasons. The position has strong patient demand, an established team, and the opportunity to practice a broad mix of dentistry in a supportive private-practice environment.
Our practice is built around four core values: Communication & Collaboration, Doing the Right Thing, Adapt & Thrive, and Excellence in Execution. We are looking for a doctor who is clinically thoughtful, kind with patients, respectful to the team, and motivated to keep growing.
What makes this opportunity strong:
- Single-location private practice with mentorship and direct owner-doctor support
- Approximately 30 new patients per month per dentist, with new-patient flow steadily increasing
- Opportunity to continue a broad procedure mix: restorative dentistry, emergency care, extractions, root canals, dentures, implants, cosmetic cases, and other services based on your skill set and growth goals
- Modern technology and systems including Open Dental, Dental Intel, digital x-rays, CBCT, CEREC, and ITero scanner
- Experienced team support so you can focus on patient care, communication, and clinical excellence
- A culture that values patient trust, ethical treatment planning, coachability, and strong team relationships
Best-fit candidate:
- DDS/DMD with Oregon license or clear Oregon licensure pathway
- 2 years of clinical experience preferred; 1 year considered for a strong candidate
- Comfortable with bread-and-butter dentistry and emergency appointments, including extractions and root canals as needed
- Interested in expanding clinical scope over time, especially in procedures that allow more comprehensive care under one roof
- Communicates clearly with patients and team members
- Kind, empathetic, accountable, and receptive to feedback
Compensation and support:
- 30% of adjusted production
- Temporary daily guarantee during ramp-up; historically, our doctors have exceeded the guarantee because of patient flow and procedure opportunity
- CE support for professional development
- Health Insurance
- 401K
How to apply:
Please send your resume and a brief note about the type of practice, procedure mix, and mentorship environment you are looking for. We will start with a phone conversation, then invite strong-fit candidates for an interview and in-office shadow day so both sides can evaluate fit transparently.
