JOB TITLE: MEDICAL TECH
DEPARTMENT: SHERIFF’S OFFICE
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Hold Medical Assistant or CNA certificate.
2. Must hold a Medication Administration Certification.
3. Experience in performing nursing duties/out-patient services.
4. Be able to successfully pass Medical, Psychological, and Drug Screen testing.
5. Must not have any convictions for any Jailable Offenses.
6. Must be able to successfully take and pass TCOLE certification.
7. Must have current Texas Driver’s License.
8. Shifts are 6am to 3pm or 3pm to 12am.
EXAMPLES OF JOB DUTIES:
1. Care for and treat inmates.
2. Dress wounds and incisions.
3. Perform lab draws, test urine and perform blood sugar testing and EKG’s.
4. Keeps records of vital statistics and other pertinent data of patient.
5. Cleans and sterilizes instruments and equipment and maintains stock of supplies.
6. Monitor inmates.
7. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
8. Supervise in-house inmate work detail.
9. Stocking pre-packaged medication for administration to inmates.
Shifts are 6am to 3pm or 3pm to 12am
SALARY: $42,736.00 ANNUALLY
