Trailer Mechanic

Greg's Diesel Service, a leading provider of fleet maintenance services, is hiring Trailer Mechanics for their Indianapolis, IN locations.

Job Summary:

Trailer Mechanics inspect, repair and maintain semi-trailers and converter dollies. Minor work is also performed on yard trucks and shop equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot mechanical, air, electrical, and structural issues using computer software, diagnostic tools, and manual inspection.
• Repair mechanical, air, electrical, and structural issues.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance in accordance with DOT guidelines.
• Move equipment in/out of the shop and reposition within the yard.
• Accurately document repairs, parts usage, and labor for each repair.
• Respond to road calls on an as-needed basis.
• Communicate with shop managers/supervisors on repair statuses, parts requests, as well as any other items that need addressed.
• Promote a positive, clean, and organized work environment.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to pass a background check, in accordance with vendor standards.
• 1–3 years of vehicle, trailer, or heavy-duty equipment maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and work on, in, and under trailers.
• Comfortable working in outdoor conditions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Experience:

• Mechanic: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:
