Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fleet Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment. Most units are box trucks and or FedEx style step vans. We Also work on tons of Transit Vans and Ford Econolines. This role requires a strong background in automotive repair and diagnostics, as well as the ability to work independently and efficiently. The Fleet Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring that all vehicles are safe, reliable, and ready for operation. Diesel Knowledge is a huge Plus.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles, including but not limited to oil changes, brake inspections, and tire services.
- Conduct automotive diagnostics to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
- Repair and align vehicle components to ensure optimal performance.
- Execute equipment repair tasks, including soldering and assembling parts as needed.
- Maintain air brake systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Troubleshoot HVAC systems within vehicles to ensure proper functioning.
- Document all repairs and maintenance performed on vehicles in accordance with company policies.
- Collaborate with team members to improve repair processes and enhance overall fleet performance.
Skills
- Proficient in automotive repair techniques, including diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Experience with tire service procedures and equipment.
- Strong skills in equipment repair, assembly, and soldering.
- Knowledge of air brake systems and their maintenance requirements.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems in vehicles is a plus.
- Ability to transmit information effectively within the team regarding vehicle status and repair needs.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
