Position Summary

This role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and conducting repairs to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
Position Responsibilities - Essential
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, tuggers, banding machines, and air pack fill machines
- Perform minor and routine repairs, including painting, plumbing, and other related maintenance activities
- Perform minor electrical work
- Assist in the installation and modification of building equipment systems to enhance operational efficiency
- Utilize troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues in a timely manner
- Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date service and replacement data files for all equipment and machinery
- Act as a liaison for procurement of service contracts and repair work; assist in purchasing facility fixtures and equipment as needed
- Communicate the need for major repairs or upgrades to lighting, heating, ventilation, and other essential systems to the appropriate manager
- Support site safety and quality initiatives through participation and leadership in teams, incident/Corrective Action Report (CAR) analysis, and follow up
- Respond promptly to facility maintenance and repair issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations
- Recommend upgrades to maintenance operations and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions, taking corrective action as necessary
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment in compliance with safety regulations
- Prepare required reports and correspondence related to maintenance activities
- Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities
- Based on the nature of the essential functions associated with this role, GreenWood has designated this as a “safety-sensitive” position
- Develop, prepare, and present recommendations and reports as requested
- Develop skills in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, HVAC, and/or hydraulic systems
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager
- Associate degree in industrial maintenance technology, maintenance mechanics, facilities maintenance technology, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- One year of related experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a distribution or manufacturing environment
- Master Electrician Certification or the equivalent combination of education and experience with the ability to obtain Master Electrician Certification
- Knowledge of electrical codes and electrical systems (i.e. degree, certification, or other professional standing)
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, and industrial machinery
- Knowledge of Smart transmitters and Smart communicators
- Knowledge of the occupational hazard and safety precautions of the trades involved
- Proficient in troubleshooting defects in control systems
- Ability to operate within a team-based environment, willing to participate in team activities and serve in leadership roles, and receptive to receiving and giving constructive feedback to team members and management
- Ability to understand and follow spoken and written instructions and to read and interpret sketches, diagrams, and blueprints
- Ability to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
- Ability to interact with facility employees, outside vendors, and customers
- Proficient in both mechanical and electrical systems maintenance, including troubleshooting and repair techniques
- Prior experience and ability to obtain and maintain certification for operating forklifts and mechanically elevated work platforms
- Demonstrate understanding of safety, health, environmental, quality systems, and regulatory compliance guidelines
- Demonstrate a high level of competency and efficiency in all aspects of maintenance operations
- Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, SAP, Outlook, and Workflow
- Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s)
- Post-secondary education and/or a technical trade certificate preferred
- Five (5) years of previous experience working in a production maintenance environment or similar manufacturing maintenance environment preferred
- Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, and the ability to learn how to effectively use maintenance software to input data and research parts preferred
