Maintenance Technician Apprentice - 1st shift (GAL)

Job Description

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician Apprentice will assist the maintenance technicians with daily duties by shadowing the technicians and learning the necessary skills required for maintaining process equipment while performing hands-on tasks.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist the maintenance technicians with daily duties which may include performing preventive and corrective maintenance as directed by maintenance technicians
• Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Receive, unload, and correctly store parts and supplies in the plant as directed by maintenance technicians
• Participate in plant shift meetings and continuous improvement activities
• Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities
• Based on the nature of the essential functions associated with this role, GreenWood has designated this as a “safety-sensitive” position.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned
• Attend job training and other related activities
  
  

Qualifications And Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Enrolled in FAME program at Southern Union Community College (Opelika Campus) — MANDATORY
• Ability to read and write English
• Good communication skills, written and oral
• Strong computer skills
• Mechanical and/or Electrical aptitude
• Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s)
