Pay Range: Based on Certification Level; Trainee – $42,931.20-$60,070.40; Class C – $53,684.80-$75,129.60; Class B – $59,051.20-$82,638.40; Class A – $$64,438.40-$90,209.60

Location: Greenwood, SC

Hours: Rotating 12- hour shifts; 8am – 8pm; 8pm – 8am

Our Water Treatment Plant team is seeking a dedicated Water Plant Operator (Class A, B, or C) – Gas Control to help us produce high‑quality drinking water and support reliable utility services for the customers we proudly serve.

Position Summary: Under occasional supervision, operates the CPW water plant to produce potable water that meets or exceeds the requirements of the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in sufficient quantities to meet the demands of the system served. Monitors and adjusts gas usage as necessary to ensure compliance with transporter and supplier contracts and to maintain adequate pressure to sustain the gas distribution system. Receives, responds to and/or dispatches customer calls regarding problems related to water, electric and gas utilities. Performs related technical work as required. Reports to the Water Plant Superintendent.

Required Skills and Qualifications: Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by three years of progressively responsible experience in water plant operations, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess Class A, B, or C Water Operator Certification.
