ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER:

Ministry summary: The elementary teacher shall prayerfully help students learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christians to the praise and glory of God.

Required Professional Qualities

It is expected that the ELEMENTARY TEACHER will …

Hold a BACHELOR’S degree from an accredited post-secondary institution or be willing to participate in a program to complete such a degree within a specified time period.
Hold ACSI TEACHER CERTIFICATION or be willing to participate in a program to complete the requirements for certification within a specified time period.

• Instructs students in a program of study which meets curriculum objectives and prepared students to master grade level standards.
• Create lessons plans that incorporate instructional strategies, considers learning styles and actively engage students.
• Establishes and maintains classroom standards of behavior with positive reinforcement. Follows the school-wide discipline policy.
• Evaluates academic and social growth of students, prepares report cards, and keeps appropriate records to include attendance reports and other documentations as needed.
• Communicates regularly with parents or guardians through conferences and other means to discuss student progress.
• Demonstrate a reasonable level of computer literacy, having a basic proficiency in doing word processing, creating and using a spreadsheet, emailing, and accessing the Internet.
• Possess evidence of other adequate preparation, background, or experience as determined by the school administrator.
