The Fixed Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing fixed plant equipment including conveyors, screens, compactors, balers, pumps, and control systems to ensure safe and efficient operations. This position supports uptime through preventive maintenance, repairs, and accurate documentation.

Duties Applicable to All Levels
Fixed Plant Maintenance Technician I (Entry Level)
Role Focus : Building foundational fixed plant maintenance skills, diagnostic discipline, and safety habits under supervision.
Role Focus : Independent execution of PMs, diagnostics, and repairs with consistent quality and productivity .
Role Focus : Technical expert and informal leader responsible for complex diagnostics, major repairs, and fleet reliability.

- Follow all Company safety policies and procedures including PPE requirements, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, machine guarding and all other applicable safety standards
- Maintain clean and safe work environment
- Complete PMs and work orders in CMMS
- Follow OEM manuals and SOPs
- Communicate equipment conditions and repair needs
Fixed Plant Maintenance Technician I (Entry Level)
Role Focus : Building foundational fixed plant maintenance skills, diagnostic discipline, and safety habits under supervision.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance and inspections
- Assist with mechanical repairs
- Identify plant equipment and components
- Report issues to senior technicians
Role Focus : Independent execution of PMs, diagnostics, and repairs with consistent quality and productivity .
- Perform independent diagnostics and repairs
- Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, conveyor and mechanical systems
- Maintain PM compliance and documentation accuracy
- Support Technician I employees
Role Focus : Technical expert and informal leader responsible for complex diagnostics, major repairs, and fleet reliability.
- Lead advanced diagnostics and major repairs
- Serve as SME across plant systems
- Mentor technicians and lead training
- Drive reliability and continuous improvement
Fixed Plant Maintenance Technician I (Entry Level)
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- 0–2 years of fixed plant maintenance experience preferred
- Trade school building maintenance program preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- 2–4 years of progressive diesel or fleet maintenance experience
- Demonstrated ability to perform independent equipment and systems diagnostics and repairs
- ASE certifications and CDL preferred
- Strong computer literacy and experience using maintenance management systems
- High School Diploma or GED preferred (advanced technical training preferred)
- 4–6 years of advanced fixed plant maintenance technician experience
- Demonstrated subject-matter expertise in equipment and systems diagnostics and repairs
- Proven ability to mentor and act as technical authority
- Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
- Mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic problem ‑ solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic data
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to use diagnostic software, electronic scan tools, and OEM service information that is primarily presented in English.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, safety procedures, diagnostic information, and work orders in English.
- Ability to communicate work ‑ related information verbally in English and/or Spanish.

- Fixed Plant Maintenance Technician III: Maintains the highest standards of safety, quality, and technical expertise; acts as technical leader and minimizes equipment downtimes while maximizing productivity.
