Description
Greenville University is seeking a Graduate Assistant to support the administration of the university’s experiential learning curriculum and campus-based initiatives. Reporting to the Dean of Experiential Learning, the Graduate Assistant will assist in the day-to-day operations and administrative needs of the Experience Institute.
Responsibilities will include:
- Providing support for all aspects of the Experience First curriculum and EXPF instructors.
- Monitoring LMS for consistent recording of grades, attendance, feedback, and academic honesty across all EXPF courses.
- Coordinating EXPF mentors, mentor program development and mentor recruitment.
- Planning, management and facilitation of annual EXPF events, programming and career closet.
- Collecting and organizing key documents.
- Creating reports for experiential learning proposals, lesson plans, assessment and retention.
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Identifying experiential learning opportunities and programming for further development.
- Ensuring the Experience Institute is a welcoming, communicative and helpful office for all students.
- Remaining up to date and knowledgeable about trends, developments and legislation related to higher education and/or experiential learning.
Requirements
Minimum Preferred Qualifications:
- Acceptance and matriculation into a GU graduate program.
- Proven organizational skills.
- Attentive to details.
- Proficient in data collection and analysis.
- Possess a passion for student mentoring and trust building.
- Demonstrate ability to advise, instruct, manage, motivate, and connect with students.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Exercises resilience and flexibility in a fluid work environment.
- Proficient at problem-solving and focuses on solutions.
- Productively contributes as a member of a team.
- Successfully engages in independent work.
- Basic introductory knowledge of experiential education.
- Prior experience as a student in an experiential classroom or program.
