Position Overview
The Director of Nursing is responsible for overseeing all nursing operations within the facility, ensuring high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, and effective staff leadership. This role requires strong clinical expertise, leadership ability, and a commitment to long-term care excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all nursing department operations and clinical services
- Lead, mentor, and support RNs, LPNs, and CNAs
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations
- Monitor quality measures, audits, and clinical outcomes
- Develop and enforce nursing policies and procedures
- Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and performance standards
- Support survey readiness and deficiency prevention efforts
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (therapy, dietary, social services, etc.)
- Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation and reporting
- Promote a positive, resident-centered care environment
Qualifications
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Prior leadership experience in long-term care preferred (DON, ADON, or Unit Manager)
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance (IDPH, CMS guidelines)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
