Position Overview: The position of Audiology Tech/Assistant functions as the primary clinical support to physicians, audiologists, and patients who are seen, served, and treated by Greenville ENT & Allergy Associates PA (GENTA). The Audiology Tech/Assistant is responsible for a myriad of duties and responsibilities as outlined below. On occasion, the Audiology Tech/Assistant may also be asked to perform non-clinical responsibilities to ensure continuity of operations throughout GENTA.
Flexibility: While this Job Description is meant to provide an overview and specific responsibilities for the Audiology Tech/Assistant, GENTA Management reserves the right to make changes, adjustments, and revisions, as needed, to this document and will coordinate such modifications with the Practice Administrator.
Supervision: The Audiology Tech/Assistant reports directly to the Audiology Coordinator.
Physical Demands: Coordination, manual, and physical dexterity sufficient to properly and adequately use various items of medical equipment and office equipment as required of the position or directed by the Practice Administrator. The position may involve sitting, standing, bending, and stooping. Must also be capable of lifting up to 25 pounds.
Working Conditions: Normal medical office environment, which may involve dealing with a high traffic volume of people and stressful situations requiring the ability to think clearly; respond quickly; and to be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Responsible for inventory and supply control/management
- Clean all Audiology equipment at end of each workday
- Contact patients to confirm hearing aid and other appointments, schedule fits, manage repairs, etc.
- Provide Care & Use Instruction to patients
- Maintain Audiology Department files such as invoices, mailings, physician referrals, etc.
- Ensure that patient education materials are stocked and displayed
- Carry out Audiology Department office administrative duties
- Participate in performance systems for follow-up with patients and tracking sales with new and existing customers
- Perform hands on hearing aid cleaning and repairs
- Help walk-in patients troubleshoot problems with hearing aids and accessories
- Communicate directly with hearing aid manufacturers
Requirements:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and wear many hats is a must
- Must be organized, detail oriented, and a quick learner
- Must be proficient with computer skills
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Previous EHR system experience
- Graduate from an Audiology Tech/Assistant Program Preferred but not required.
