What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bus Driver position at Greenville County Schools?
- Job Goal:** To transport students to and from school and school events in a safe manner.
- Transport students/passengers to and from school and events
- Supervise and assist passengers (including disabled) to get on and off the bus
- Perform pre-trip inspections daily
- Discharge passengers at authorized stops only
- Maintain rules governing passenger conduct on bus
- Collect and submit personal items left on bus to bus office
- Complete and maintain accurate and timely records and reports, i.e. time sheets, mechanical reports, route descriptions, seating charts, etc.
- Attend scheduled in-service training
- Adhere to regular service schedule for bus
- Clean bus, i.e. sweeping, washing front and back windows, etc.
- Maintain positive communication with school personnel, parents, students
- Dress appropriately
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Must have a valid SC Drivers License with no more than 4 points.
- Must pass Physical Assessment Test
- Must pass pre- employment drug screening
- Must attend ALL required Bus Driver training and Professional Development
- Must pass SC Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and CDL requirements
- Starting pay $21.28with no experience. Pay is determined by years of experience and maximum pay is $23.54
- Bus Driver positions are 9 months positions. Summers off.
