POSITION OVERVIEW
The Greenville Chamber is seeking a Career Navigator serves and assists adult students in preparing for career transitions by connecting their career goals with the needed and necessary education. An effective Career Navigator will be able to help clients create a path for educational and career success and then ensure follow through, offering help and guidance in the areas of financial, academic, and holistic support.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Motivate adults to return to college to advance their career and economic goals.
- Provide advising, support and follow-up working in collaboration with local college professionals.
- Facilitate access to programs and resources that are aligned with the goals of the individual.
- Develop strong relationships between Greenville Chamber and area colleges and universities.
- Lead generation through participation in college fairs, adult education centers and other avenues
- Utilize a CRM to monitor follow up to increase successful completion of degrees.
- Assist with coordinating and executing promotional events.
- Participate in Greenville Chamber functions, network and develop community connections to further enhance department goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in related fields such as higher education administration, counseling, or social work.
- Two years minimum experience working in education, sales and/or advising.
- Sales experience is a plus.
- Experiential or professional understanding of academic and non-academic issues surrounding adult learners is required.
- Some understanding of the college educational process, including admissions, academic advising, transcript analysis, and financial aid as it relates to the adult learner.
- Ability to work with individuals with varied socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, skill sets, and abilities.
COMPETENCIES
- Proficient user knowledge of computer operation and systems, specifically MS Office products.
- Good public speaking and presentation skills.
- Effective in written communications
- Experience working with Database programs and maintaining information preferred
- Experience utilizing social media preferred
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to foster teamwork and collaboration between key industry members, staff, Chamber members, and community leaders.
- Ability to plan and organize.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Ability to be flexible regarding business hours and accepting new responsibilities.
Compensation commensurate with experience.
