Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Extrusion/Finishing Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating extrusion and finishing machinery to produce high-quality plastic products. Your expertise will ensure efficient production processes, precise quality inspection, and safe materials handling. Duties
- Set up, operate, and monitor extrusion machines, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to production specifications
- Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to verify product dimensions and surface finish
- Utilize hand tools and fabrication equipment like press brake machines and CNC lathes for finishing processes and minor repairs
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and CNC systems, to minimize downtime
- Handle materials safely using forklifts and other warehouse equipment, ensuring proper storage and transportation of raw materials and finished goods
- Inspect finished products for defects or inconsistencies, documenting findings for quality control purposes
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying process improvements and maintaining a clean, organized work environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience in plastics extrusion, plastics blow molding, or plastics injection molding is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience operating machining tools such as CNC lathes, press brake machines, and hand tools
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CNC systems, and basic math skills for precise measurements
- Ability to perform quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments
- Warehouse experience including materials handling with forklifts is preferred
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes with a focus on fabrication, machining, and assembly techniques
- Excellent attention to detail coupled with the ability to follow safety procedures diligently
