Job Description :
We are seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for a locum tenens assignment in West Virginia. This is a scheduled outpatient/clinic position with no routine call, offering a consistent Monday–Friday schedule.
The ideal candidate will have advanced gastroenterology experience, particularly with ERCP, therapeutic ERCP, and EUS.
INDITP
Schedule :
- Monday–Friday
- 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- 8-hour shifts
- Clinic/Hospital coverage
- No routine call
- Approximately 2–3 weeks of coverage needed per month
Clinical Details :
- Patient Population: Adults
- Average Patients Per Day: 9
- EMR: Cerner / EPIC
- Practice Setting: Hospital/Clinic
- Trauma Level: Adult Level IV
Job Responsibilities :
The Gastroenterologist will provide outpatient GI care and advanced procedural services, including:
- ERCP
- Therapeutic ERCP
- EUS
- General gastroenterology procedures
- Outpatient GI evaluations
- Urgent inpatient GI cases as needed
- Support for the hospital's GI call team when urgent cases need to be added to the schedule
The department currently averages approximately 9 advanced GI cases per day.
Support Staff :
The physician will work with a well-established support team consisting of:
- 9 APPs
- Registered Nurses
- LPNs
- Medical Assistants
- Additional support staff across 3 GI locations
Two APPs are trained in advanced GI and perform preliminary patient evaluations before patients are scheduled with the advanced Gastroenterologist.
Requirements :
- Board Certification: Required
- West Virginia Medical License: Required
- IMLC candidates who qualify for WV licensure will be considered.
- DEA: Required
- BLS: Required
- ACLS: Required
- Advanced GI experience preferred
- Experience with ERCP and EUS strongly preferred
- Minimum years of experience: Open
Credentialing :
- Credentialing timeframe: Approximately 60 days
- Client will determine final qualifications, privileging, and credentialing requirements.
