What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Nursing position at Greensprings?
To manage overall operation of the Nursing Services Department in accordance with Company policies,
standards of nursing practices and governmental regulations so as to maintain excellent care of all the
Residents’ and employee needs.
Requirements:- Work with the Administrator, Consultants, and facility staff in planning all aspects of nursing
services to include interface with other disciplines and departments.
- Monitor department activities, communicate policies, evaluate performance, and provide
feedback to assist, coach, or redirect team members. Provide commendations and discipline as
needed.
- Establish priorities and job assignments.
- Maintain records, manage budgets and supplies.
- Conduct regular rounds to review care.
- Assess resident’s physical and psychosocial status.
- Monitor care activities and documentation to ensure the delivery of nursing care according to the
physician’s orders, care plans, and established standards and facility policies.
- Manage admissions, transfers, and discharge of residents.
- Communicate with residents, family members and management regarding resident status.
- Personally participates in the assessment and delivery of care.
- Follow and ensures compliance with State, Federal, and company QAPI standards.
- Follow and ensures medication administration is conducted in accordance with nursing standards
and facility policies.
- Monitor associate relation practices to ensure high morale and staff retention; including effective
communication, prompt problem resolution, positive supervisory practices, and maintaining a
positive work environment.
- Maintain, or oversee the delegation of current and future staffing through development of
recruiting sources, appropriate selection, orientation, training, and staff education.
- Recognize and develop talented employees for growth and potential leadership roles.
- Develop positive relationships on behalf of the company with government regulators, families,
area health care community, and the community at large.
- Plan and implement nursing orientation, job skills training, and in-service education programs in
accordance with company policies and regulations.
- Carry out, coordinate, or manage assigned administrative functions and areas or programs related
to Nursing Services which may include ancillary supplies or services; Care Plans; MDSs;
Infection Control Program; light Duty or Safety Program; Staff Scheduling, and related functions.
