Grain Elevator Customer Service Representative
Position Summary
The Grain Elevator Customer Service Representative is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while supporting daily grain elevator operations, grain handling, and grain inventory management. This position serves as a primary contact for producers and ensures accurate documentation, grain grading, and efficient movement of grain.
Essential Responsibilities
· Purchase corn, soybeans, and wheat from local producers.
· Weigh inbound/outbound trucks; sample and grade grain to USDA standards.
· Build and maintain long-term relationships with farmers and commercial grain customers.
· Enter E2 Grain tickets
· Produce & Assemble purchase and sales settlements.
· Update daily grain bids on GSP website.
· Create Flat, DP, and HTA contracts and mail.
· Apply grain to contracts.
· Confirm contracts.
· Communicate market information to producers.
· Coordinate inbound deliveries and outbound shipments.
· Maintain and File customer records.
· Expand grain origination territory.
· Work with logistics personnel to coordinate inbound grain deliveries and outbound shipments.
· Assist with grain quality issues and customer concerns.
· Work every other Saturday and some Sundays during harvest.
· Work longer weekday hours during harvest.
· Create Grain Insurance Letters
· Keep area clean and help maintain cleanliness of GSP
· Use social media to communicate any changes in grain receiving
· Follow company policies and industry regulations.
· Assist other departments as needed. Examples are the following:
- Answering phone
- Invoicing
- Filing
- Assisting with Event Planning
- Cash, Check, and Credit Card Deposit Slips
- All other duties as assigned and that helps the GSP team or customers
· Adapt to changing business needs as company grows. Job descriptions are fluent and can and do change.
Qualifications
· Excellent customer service and communication skills.
· Work every other Saturday and possibly Sunday during harvest.
· Work longer hours during harvest.
· Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office).
· Attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
· Knowledge of grain marketing preferred.
· High school diploma required; agriculture or agribusiness experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
· Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
· Ability to work in office and grain facility environments.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
