On-Field Host / Emcee

The Greensboro Grasshoppers are seeking a dynamic, engaging, and professional On-Field Host (Emcee) to serve as the in-game personality and fan ambassador for all 66 home games and select special events throughout the season.

This prominent role is responsible for delivering an exciting, memorable, and family-friendly experience at First National Bank Field. The On-Field Host will interact with fans, lead promotions, execute sponsor activations, and energize the crowd while embodying the Grasshoppers brand in every interaction. As one of the most visible faces of our organization, this individual will help create moments that keep fans coming back all season long.

The position reports directly to the Director of Promotions & the Director of Game Entertainment.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-field host for all 66 home games plus any playoff games, April through September.
• Lead and facilitate all on-field promotions, in-stand contests, games, and sponsor activations.
• Execute live reads, promotional scripts, contest explanations, and sponsor announcements clearly and enthusiastically.
• Conduct fan interviews and crowd interactions throughout the ballpark.
• Introduce entertainment segments, theme night elements, and between-inning activities with confidence and professionalism.
• Coordinate with the Promotions team, and production staff to ensure seamless in-game execution.
• Maintain awareness of game flow, timing, and production cues from the Director of Game Entertainment.
• Represent the Grasshoppers brand in a positive, inclusive, and family-friendly manner at all times.
• Assist with select community appearances, sponsor events, media activations, and non-game-day engagements as needed.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in hosting, emceeing, theater, broadcasting, live entertainment, or public speaking strongly preferred. Sports experience is a plus.
• Strong and confident microphone presence with the ability to project enthusiasm to large crowds.
• Outstanding verbal communication skills and a natural ability to engage fans of all ages.
• Ability to memorize scripts, follow cues, and adapt quickly in a live-event environment.
• Comfortable improvising and managing unexpected changes calmly and professionally.
• Team-oriented, dependable, and receptive to direction from production staff.
• Passion for baseball, live entertainment, and creating memorable fan experiences.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus but not required.

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and move quickly throughout the ballpark for extended periods.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must be available for all 66 home games, including evenings, weekends, and holidays from April through September.

Additional Information

This is a seasonal, part-time position. Compensation is commensurate with experience. The role may include additional appearances at community events, sponsor activations, and special engagements.
