Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supervising all aspects of the service Restaurant functions, in accordance with hotel standards.
  • Directs, implements, and maintains a service and management philosophy that serves as a guide to respective staff.
  • Work with the Sales Team to coordinate banquet and catering details.
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact during banquet and catering events.
  • Place orders and coordinate with preferred vendors for contracted items.
  • Arrange banquet room set-ups as needed.
  • Provide exceptional service before, during, and after contracted events.
  • Coordinate schedules with banquet staff.
  • Clean up and break down banquet rooms after events conclude.

Primary Functions

Include, but are not limited to:

  • Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
  • Ensures compliance with and completion of all daily operational procedures.
  • Maintains food and beverage safety and quality based on hotel standards.
  • Establishes, maintains, and trains standards and procedures for operations and safe working conditions in the department.
  • Responsible for responding to and handling guest-related issues pertaining to the department.
  • Ensures communication with General Manager, all other Department Managers, Supervisors, and Staff.
  • Assists in managing all aspects of employee performance to ensure productivity and a quality work environment.
  • Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner; follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintains regular attendance, is consistently on time, and observes prescribed work, break, and meal periods in compliance with standards.
  • Maintains high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include compliance with the dress code.
  • Performs any other duties as requested by the supervisor.

Knowledgeable In

  • Entire property, staff services, hours of operation, type of rooms, locations, rates, and discounts.
  • Safety and Security Measures.
  • Familiarity with food and beverage cost controls.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Minimum one year of experience in the Restaurant / Food and Beverage field.
  • Previous supervisory / management experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
  • High school graduate or equivalent, some college preferred.
  • ServSafe and/or food safety training.
  • Alcohol awareness training.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to accurately compute mathematical calculations and use the required measurement tools.
  • Ability to prepare budgets and ensure cost controls.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
  • Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for clientele.

  • Holidays, weekends, and evenings. Long hours sometimes required.
  • Must be able to push or pull 60 pounds and lift and/or carry 30 pound.
