The Greens of Spruce Pine is looking for a Full-Time experienced Medical Records Coordinator/ Central Supply The primary purpose of the Medical Records Coordinator is to maintain the patients’ clinical records, including coding, auditing, and providing pertinent staff education regarding recordkeeping procedures in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. The primary purpose of Central Supply is ensure the facility is stocked with all the supplies that is needed to care for the residents.

 

Education, Experience, and Licensure/Certifications:

  • Must have training in post-acute care health information management

 

Specific Requirements:

  • Must demonstrate knowledge of State and Federal legal requirements relating to documentation, confidentiality, and legal issues pertaining to health information

  • Must have functional knowledge in field of practice

  • Must be knowledgeable of medical records practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing medical records functions in the post-acute care facility

  • Must perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: medical coding, auditing, clinical records, privacy official responsibilities, supervisory responsibilities, patient rights, and safety and sanitation

  • Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information

 

Essential Functions:

  • Must be able to audit and complete ongoing review of all patients’ clinical records to ensure documentation and performance compliance

  • Must be able to maintain current, overflow, and discharged record filing systems

  • Must understand and apply LTC payment systems, including Medicare

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with physicians, nursing staff, and allied health personnel

  • Must exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients

Responsibilities for Central Supply Include:

  • Inventories and re-stocks, clinic, and day center supply rooms.

  • Reconciles the charges to used supplies.

  • Prepares end of the month reconciliation for the Administrator.

  • Orders supplies including but not limited to Office, Dietary Supplements, and incontinent supplies

  • Researches and analyzes product and pricing information

  • Responsible for conducting and overseeing monthly and annual inventory.

  • Responsible for maintaining an adequate amount of supplies.

  • Maintain computerized and manual files for tracking inventory.

  • Inventory of all supplies periodically.

  • Perform after hour managerial duties

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Facility Administrator, Director of Nursing, or designee.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 1 year of experience in healthcare or long-term care.

  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to establish and maintain a competent and professional working relationship with a variety of individuals and the site leadership.

  • Ability to use good judgment, maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

  • Highly organized with a strong ability to think logically using analytical and mathematical concepts.

  • Proven ability to multi-task, troubleshoot, complete projects, and assigned tasks on time.

  • Excellent and effective oral and written communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Skill in using technology and other electronic devices for tasks such as scheduling, timekeeping, in-servicing, inventory, purchasing, and generating reports.
