Performs tasks essential to wholesale terminal operations. Coordinates inbound/outbound deliveries, packs and loads product using a forklift, cleans and organizes storage areas, assists with cycle counts, and maintains a safe, clean work area.
Essential Functions
- Primarily responsible for equipment operations. Responsible for carrying out various assigned physical duties necessary in the operation of the facility. Responsible for performing the various general labor, maintenance, and some administrative duties of the plant in an efficient and safe manner.
- Safely and efficiently operates equipment to load product for transport to trucks and/or rail cars.
- Understands and follows logical sequence of loading and unloading trucks and/or rail cars and hand palletizing finished product.
- Inspects machinery and equipment for safe operation prior to operating, performs preventive maintenance and repair as assigned and capable; ensures equipment is in good, working condition.
- Maintains a quality and professional image with customers and is responsive to their needs.
- Cleans work area and works carefully to avoid damage to product, plant, and equipment.
- Cross-trains to fill other positions for as needed.
- Assists other plant/warehouse workers in various physical duties necessary in running an agricultural location
- Ability to safely and effectively operate several pieces of equipment.
- Understands all aspects and areas of facility and how work impacts others.
- Able to troubleshoot needs and repairs on own with little to no external vendor support.
- Ability to mentor, train, and help others in the facility.
- Assists location managers with budgeting and ideas for improving efficiency.
- Can effectively fill in for others as needed.
- Ensures equipment is in good, working condition; reports any discrepancies to site leadership; follows all safety regulations and guidelines
- Assists other plant/warehouse workers in various physical duties necessary in running an agricultural location
Required Qualifications
- Specific position/site qualifications and progression may apply, consult with Human Resources
- Skill Level I – entry level; some related experience and / or training preferred
- Skill Level II – Minimum 3 years experience ; may also be determined by other requirements of the position, including overall experience related to agricultural experience; Note: this level is not guaranteed promotion based on years of experience – performance standards apply
- High School graduate or GED; may be offset by experience
- Experience working in a warehouse environment (e.g., product storage, product staging, etc.) preferred
- Experience working with agricultural types of equipment preferred
- Experience working with racking systems and loading/unloading pallets (e.g., pulling and placing pallets on/off vertical product racking systems and trucks, maximizing storage by stacking products vertically, etc.)
- Must possess a valid driver’s license; must be able to meet a Motor Vehicle Review in accordance with Company policy

- Trained or be able to operate lift truck if required
- Self-motivated and able to perform cleanup around the work area
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with team members and customers

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a warehouse or outdoor agricultural setting. Employee will regularly encounter extreme temperatures, adverse weather, dust, loud noises, and a hazardous agricultural and/or industrial environment that requires regular use of PPE.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Needs to stay in good physical condition to regularly lift more than 50 pounds, climb ladders, perform preventive maintenance activities, and assist other plant/warehouse workers in various physical duties necessary in running an agricultural location. Employee will regularly be required to walk, stand, lift, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, handle, feel and grasp. Workload is frequently medium to heavy.
Travel
Travel outside of the assigned area is very rare.
