Senior Controls Engineer – PLC Programming & Facility SystemsSanta Clara, CA 95050 (Onsite)$58–$69/hr | 12-month contract We’re looking for a Senior PLC/SCADA Systems Integrator to support industrial and semiconductor facility projects. In this role, you’ll configure, program, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, instrumentation, and facility automation controls.This is a hands-on, onsite position working directly inside a highly technical client facility.What You’ll DoProgram, configure, and test PLCs and HMI/SCADA systems (Rockwell, GE/Emerson, Ignition).Integrate facility systems, sensors, instrumentation, and control panels.Review and interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, loop sheets, and ISA symbols.Support on-site commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and system validation.Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams on multi-discipline system design.Assist with design of control panels and electrical circuits using AutoCAD.Ensure system performance, reliability, and adherence to project scope, schedule, and quality standards.Must-Have ExperienceAssociate degree in Electronics, Instrumentation, or related field.6 years industrial controls / system integration experience.Strong knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, HMI systems, and industrial automation.SQL Server ExperienceRockwell and GE/Emerson PLC experience.Experience with Ignition (Inductive Automation).Able to read P&IDs using ANSI/ISA S5.1 symbols.Solid understanding of analog/digital I/O, relay logic, field wiring, and panel hardware.Proficient with Microsoft Office.Nice-to-HavesCimplicityTM or advanced Rockwell programming experience.Semiconductor or advanced industrial facility experience.Control panel fabrication experience.SQL Server experience.Instrumentation/valve specification experience.Experience with analytical instruments (pH, conductivity, flow, pressure, temp, etc.).AutoCAD experience.Other DetailsLocation: Fully onsite in Sunnyvale/Santa Clara, CAContract: 12 months with potential extensionPay: $58–$69/hr (DOE) 70% PLC HMI programming20% instrumentation / facility automation10% commissioning multi-discipline coordinationCompany DescriptionWhy Join· Collaborative, experienced engineering team.· Competitive salary & full benefits.· Opportunity to deliver impactful next-generation products.
