Furnace Operator – Heat Treating
Cranston, RI | Temp-to-Perm
We are hiring a Furnace Operator to run heat treating and thermal processing equipment, turning customer work orders into finished heat-treated products while following quality, safety, and production standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load, operate, and unload heat treating equipment
- Set up, rack, fixture, clean, and degrease parts
- Verify furnace programs, time, temperature, gases, air pressure, oil levels, and water flow
- Follow work orders, quality procedures, and safety requirements
- Perform pre/post equipment checks and basic preventative maintenance
- Document all work accurately
- Keep work area clean, safe, and organized
- Assist with packing, setup, cleaning, and production support as needed
Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED or related experience/training
- Ability to read work orders, procedures, and safety rules in English
- Basic math and computer skills (Microsoft Office/business systems)
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk regularly
- Comfortable working around heat and industrial equipment
- Reliable, safety-focused, detail-oriented, and a team player
