Electrical Engineer – Industrial / Facility Design

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with 5–10 years of experience in facility and industrial building design, supporting projects ranging from new construction of manufacturing/process facilities to rehabilitation of existing plants in high-hazard environments.

This role is ideal for engineers with experience in industrial power distribution, complex facility systems, and coordination within multi-disciplinary project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and tailor electrical specifications based on project-specific requirements (modifying from master/spec libraries)
• Perform power distribution load calculations and system sizing for industrial facilities
• Create detailed electrical design drawings including:
• • Power distribution systems
  • Lighting systems
  • Low-voltage systems (data, security, communications)
• Maintain and update panel schedules and circuiting documentation
• Execute lighting calculations and layout design
• Perform device layout and equipment placement within facility plans
• Research and select electrical components and equipment (switchgear, panels, fixtures, etc.)
• Support field activities, including site visits for verification, data collection, and construction support
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and clients to resolve design and installation challenges
  

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of electrical engineering/design experience
• Background in industrial, manufacturing, or high-hazard facility environments (strongly preferred)
• Experience with power distribution systems and facility infrastructure
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit
• Familiarity with NEC and applicable electrical codes
• Strong communication and coordination skills across multi-disciplinary teams
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple project priorities
