Accounts Payable Clerk

Position Summary

Looking for a highly motivated and organized individual to handle a busy Accounts Payable desk. The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for monitoring the outflow of capital for the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Invoice Processing: Receive, review, and verify invoices from vendors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and purchase orders
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate accounts payable ledgers, reconcile statements, and ensure all transactions are properly posted.
• Vendor Relations: Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies, manage payment terms, and maintain strong business relationships .
• Compliance and Controls: Ensure adherence to internal controls, and company policies; assist with audits and reporting requirements .
• Administrative Support: Perform clerical duties such as filing, ten-key, data entry, and word processing.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and general data entry .
• Analytical Skills: Attention to detail, accuracy in processing financial information, and ability to identify discrepancies
• Soft Skills: Time management, communication, and teamwork, especially when coordinating with multiple departments or vendors .
• Experience: Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance is preferred.

Work Environment

40 hours per week in an open office setting. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Working in close proximity to colleagues. Reports directly to Vice-President Financial Controller.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $39,000.00 - $42,000.00 per year
