Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various types of driving, including but not limited to tractor-trailer, hook truck, and front load. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting freight to designated locations while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. Your expertise in manual transmission and familiarity with different truck types will be essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Operate and drive a variety of trucks including tractor-trailers, hook trucks, and front load trucks.
- Load and unload freight efficiently while ensuring proper handling of goods.
- Follow designated routes for timely deliveries while maintaining compliance with all safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and operational readiness.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route changes or delays.
- Utilize forklifts as needed for loading and unloading cargo.
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the truck.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in truck driving with a strong focus on safety and compliance.
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
- Experience with various truck types such as dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and refrigerated trailers is advantageous.
- Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading freight.
- Strong route driving skills with a commitment to punctuality and efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members and clients.
