What are the responsibilities and job description for the Builder Assistant position at Greenland Homes IA Inc.?
Greenland Homes, a division of Absolute Group, is an employee-owned residential home builder in the Des Moines area. We are looking to bring on a full-time Residential Builder Assistant. This position will assist the Superintendent to prioritize and perform specific site duties related to the home building process. We are looking for someone who prefers to be hands on, physically active, and wants to learn the process from raw dirt to completed home. To teach and ensure our assistants become competent and confident with the process, we will also offer them supervised opportunities to run select homes from start to finish.
Duties include the following:
- Commuting between developments to assist in managing job sites
- Scheduling trade partners
- Attending weekly operations meetings
- Standing inspections
- Seasonal mowing or snow removal
- Setting up watering system/timers for newly sodded yards
- Soaking foundations
- Maintaining general site presentation
Qualifications:
- General knowledge of construction and ability to use tools
- Current/valid driver's license with respectable driving record
- Punctual
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivation
- Team oriented
- Ethical
- Ability to take instruction
- Excel and thrive in fast-paced environment with tight deadline
