Bar Manager – Greenhouse Restaurant | Bluffton, SC

Full-Time | Nights, Weekends, Sundays, Mondays & Holidays Required

The Role

Greenhouse is an upscale, modern Southern restaurant with a serious cocktail program — and we’re looking for a Bar Manager who can lead it with intention.

Our beverage program is already built: the menu is developed, syrups are house-made, and systems are in place. This role is about ownership — executing at a high level, leading a team, and continuing to elevate the program.

This is a management position. You’ll lead shifts and oversee operations — not work regular bartending shifts behind the bar.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as Manager on Duty — opening and closing the restaurant as scheduled
  • Lead bar and floor operations during service
  • Train and develop staff on cocktail execution, batching, house-made syrups, and service standards
  • Manage team performance, scheduling, and accountability
  • Maintain 20–21% pour cost through tight inventory and waste control
  • Oversee ordering, par levels, vendor relationships, and stock rotation
  • Drive a seasonal cocktail program, introducing new menus while retaining top-performing drinks
  • Manage Toast POS: daily reconciliation and weekly beverage reporting
  • Ensure compliance with SC alcohol laws and health regulations
  • Maintain a high-touch guest experience and visible floor presence
  • Maintain creative menus for both the first floor bar and the speakeasy.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2 years as a Bar Manager or Beverage Manager in an upscale or high-volume craft cocktail environment
  • Direct experience with house-made syrups and batching systems (required)
  • Experience managing a seasonally rotating cocktail menu (required)
  • Proven ability to open/close a full-service restaurant as Manager on Duty
  • Strong leadership skills — able to train, coach, and hold a team accountable
  • Solid understanding of pour cost, inventory systems, and beverage financials
  • Experience with Toast POS or similar POS systems preferred
  • Knowledge of South Carolina alcohol laws and responsible service standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with an upscale dining environment

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (8–10 hour shifts)
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40–50 lbs (cases, kegs, inventory)
  • Ability to work in a hot, fast-paced environment for extended periods
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any required alcohol service certifications (if applicable in SC)
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule within required availability

  • Full-time only

Compensation & Benefits
