Event Director Job Description Key Responsibilities
Sales & Booking: Respond to inquiries, conduct venue tours, prepare proposals, and close contracts to meet revenue goals.
Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients from booking through event day.
Event Planning: Guide clients on venue policies, timelines, floor plans, and logistics.
Operations Oversight: Coordinate with catering,wine staff, vendors, and facilities teams for smooth event execution.
Event Execution: Oversee day-of operations or delegate to event staff, ensuring client satisfaction.
Administrative: Maintain CRM, contracts, invoices, and reporting systems.
Policy & Systems Development: Refine venue policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistency and efficiency.
Team Collaboration: Manage part-time event assistants or day-of staff as needed, ensuring clear communication and accountability.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, event management, or related field preferred. 5 years of experience in event planning, catering sales, or venue management. Proven track record of sales success and client management. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedule.
