Sales Associate

Job Summary

The Sales Associate plays a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and maintaining the store's appearance. This position involves assisting customers on the floor, ensuring the health and presentation of plants, and keeping the premises clean and organized.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous retail experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of plants and gardening
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment

Knowledge

• Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Sales Techniques - Understanding of basic sales techniques and strategies to engage customers and promote products.
• English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Primary Job Duties

• Assist customers on the sales floor by providing product information and recommendations.
• Water plants and ensure their health and presentation.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store premises.
• Restock shelves and displays as needed.
• Operate cash register and handle transactions accurately.
• Provide excellent customer service and resolve any customer inquiries or complaints.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve store goals and objectives.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent standing, walking, and bending.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and humidity levels.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
