Greenheart Exchange is looking for Local Coordinators to help place international high school students with volunteer host families and support them throughout their exchange year. This flexible hours role blends virtual work with meaningful face-to-face connections in your community.
As a Local Coordinator, you’ll:
Connect caring local families with amazing teens from around the world
Support both host families and students throughout the year
Organize fun cultural activities and check-ins
Build friendships and understanding across cultures

Retirees, educators, parents, community leaders, or anyone passionate about cultural exchange and youth mentorship! Those who are looking for a supplemental income.
What You’ll Do:
- Find and support volunteer host families in your area
- Promote exchange opportunities via social media and community networks
- Visit homes to ensure a welcoming environment for students
- Partner with local high schools to arrange student enrollment
- Lead fun and informative orientations for both students and families
- Stay connected with your students and families, offering support throughout the school year
- Host local cultural events and volunteer activities that bring your group together
Requirements
- Authorized to work in the U.S. and able to pass a background check
- Live within 100 miles of the listed job area. You can place a student within 120 miles of your house. Hybrid work from home. Recruiting can be done in a variety of ways. Some community recruitment might include putting up flyers or networking events. However, You will need to do homesite visits for host families that have been recruited and prescreened. This is a 1099 commission-based pay only. This is not an hourly pay position.

Duties
- Coordinate all aspects of student exchange programs, including application processing, placement, and orientation sessions
- Recruit and onboard new exchange students through outreach and partnership development
- Manage relationships with host families, providing support and ensuring a positive experience for both students and families
- Organize cultural activities, workshops, and events to enhance the exchange experience
- Serve as the primary point of contact for students, parents, schools, and partner organizations
- Monitor student progress and well-being throughout the program duration
- Maintain accurate records of student information, program documentation, and compliance requirements
- Facilitate communication between all stakeholders to address concerns promptly
- Volunteer management: recruit, train, and supervise volunteers assisting with program activities
Skills
- Experience working with students in educational or social work settings
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability in recruiting and volunteer management
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and cultural sensitivity
- Passion for education, cultural exchange, and community engagement
- Teaching experience is a plus but not required
