Mill Worker-General Labor

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for providing a range of common manual labor duties and assisting the warehouse team with production in an overall team effort. This position will be working with premium quality durum, wheat, safflower, barley, Bermuda grass, and Sudan grass. Must be willing to be crossed-trained and move to other areas when needed.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Help organize inventory parts and other shop equipment

· General warehouse cleaning and maintenance

· Lifting and moving materials

· May perform minor repairs on equipment

· Perfoms general labor outdoors (e.g mows grass, cuts weeks, hauls trash, …)

· Ability to learn forklift operations and do so safely

· Maintain a safe, organized and clean work area at all times

· Comply with all safety rules and guidelines

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

· Experience safely operating forklift, lift trucks, dollies and other loading and moving equipment used in warehouse operations.

· Warehouse experience at 1 year.

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATION/FORMAL TRAINING:

· High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).

· Valid driver's license.

· Ability to do shift work seasonally.

· Forklift license a plus.

ESSENTIAL ABILITIES:

· Flexibility to perform multiple roles.

· Positive attitude and ability to work well independently and as a team.

· Attention to detail.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Must be physically capable of lifting, carrying and loading up to 50 pound weight.

· Ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop, push, pull and kneel frequently.

· Flexibility to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time as well as climb stairs/ladders as needed.

· Hand dexterity and strength.

· Must be able to continuously climb and descend stairs safely utilizing hand rails.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

· Work to be performed in an industrial manufacturing/processing environment: indoors and outdoors.

· Work in a fast-paced environment with rapid hand and eye coordination.

· May by required to work in outside weather conditions.

· Uneven walking surfaces, heavy machinery, forklift traffic and loud noise.
