Job Summary
Under direct supervision of the Director of Maintenance, Operations and Transportation, the Transportation Supervisor is responsible for the operation of the District pupil transportation program, including supervising the work and training of school bus drivers/mechanics, and department clerk(s), including writing formal evaluations of the staff according to employee contract timelines, monitor daily duties in the transportation areas of the Greenfield Union School District.
Requirements / Qualifications
-Possess a valid, unrestricted California Department of Education School Bus Driver Instructor Certificate authorizing both classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction, or shall obtain such certification within a timeframe established by the District. -High school diploma or equivalent. Additional coursework in typing/keyboarding, data entry, records management, and general office practices is required; an Associate (A.A.) degree is preferred. -Possess a valid Tuberculosis (TB) clearance in accordance with applicable state requirements. -Possess a valid California Class A or Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL) with Passenger and School Bus endorsements, and maintain a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (DL 51). --Possess and maintain a valid California School Bus Driver Certificate. -Successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment and any other required pre-placement screenings as a condition of employment. Desirable Qualifications: -Experience providing classroom and behind-the-wheel training for school bus drivers. -Experience maintaining training records, preparing reports, and utilizing computer software for recordkeeping and communication. -Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively respond to inquiries and interact professionally with employees, students, parents, community members, and the general public.
