What does the role entail?

Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Management: Oversee all nursing operations, including staffing, scheduling, and performance evaluations. Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to nursing staff to ensure a high-performing team.
Quality of Care: Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care to all residents in accordance with care plans, medical directives, and regulatory standards.
Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including those set by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and state health departments.
Policy Development: Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing policies, procedures, and protocols to enhance operational efficiency and resident care quality.
Staff Development: Coordinate and facilitate ongoing training and professional development for nursing staff to ensure clinical competency and adherence to best practices.
Resident and Family Relations: Collaborate with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams to address concerns, improve satisfaction, and promote a positive care environment.
Budget Oversight: Assist in developing and managing the nursing department budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources while maintaining high standards of care.
Quality Improvement: Lead quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives, including monitoring clinical outcomes, conducting audits, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, therapists, administrators, and other departments to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care delivery.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to resident care and nursing operations, ensuring a safe environment for residents and staff.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
Licensure: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in [State].
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role in a long-term care or rehabilitation setting.
