What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Attendance Clerk/Secretary December 2025-June 2026 position at Greenfield Central Community School District?
JOB GOAL: The Attendance Secretary is responsible for taking phone calls from parents concerning a students’ absence from school. Absences must be recorded properly in the software program.

Record parents' communications concerning students’ absence from school.
Update student management system regarding students’ absences from school.
Sign students in and out from school during the student day.
Prepare passes for students who need to leave school.
Answers questions and provides information regarding school attendance policies and procedures.
Oversee Office Cadets.
Maintain confidentiality regarding student, parent, family and staff information.
The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the Corporation.
Complete other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and perform arithmetic operations as needed.
Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word).
Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others contacted in the course of work.
Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor as required.
Effective writing and verbal communication skills.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent
One year of general clerical experience, preferred.
Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift 25 lbs.
Ability to carry 25 lbs.
Ability to work at a desk, conference table or in meetings of various configurations.
Ability to see for the purpose of reading laws and codes, rules and policies and other printed material.
Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels.
Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand a normal conversation.
Ability to operate office equipment.
Ability to reach in all directions.
