2nd Shift Maintenance Technician
3:30 pm - 12:00 am (Monday-Friday), Saturdays OT as needed
The successful candidate must have a wide range of experience in maintenance functions and duties. This position requires a highly organized; very hands-on person who leads by example and has a minimum of three years of experience. The successful candidate must ensure that all maintenance functions and duties are met or exceeded. The candidate must be a team player, have initiative and require very little supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Must know how to and be capable of safely operating all plant repair tools.
- Must be able to communicate process variables to shift supervisors and maintenance team members.
- Must be team oriented and able to interact with all levels of plant employees.
- Excellent skills in planning and organizing. Housekeeping skills are essential.
- Must be able to follow a preventative maintenance program throughout the plant.
- Must have skills to troubleshoot electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical problems at the plant in a highly effective and timely manner.
- Must be organized and able to keep accurate paperwork and reports.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent problem-solving skills – ability to understand the complexity of the production process and operation.
- Perform other related duties that may be assigned or associated with the responsibility of the position.
Physical Capabilities:
- Repeated lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Frequent climbing of stairs and ladders up to 40 ft. high
- Be able to stand for approximately 75% of the workday
- Frequent squatting and kneeling
- Good manual dexterity with hands to pick up small parts, use hand tools, etc.
- Good visual acuity
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; degree from a vocational school is a plus.
- 2 years’ experience preferred in a maintenance role.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week including weekends when necessary.
- Excellent problem-solving skills – ability to understand and manage the complexity of the production process and operation.
- Must have skills to troubleshoot electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical problems at the plant in a highly effective and timely manner.
- Meet physical requirements of lifting up to 75 lbs., climb stairs and ladders, squatting, kneeling, and extended periods of standing.
- General understanding of maintenance programs and systems:
- Hydraulic control systems
- Allen Bradley process controls/logic
- Basic and advanced electrical, electronic troubleshooting
- Basic welding/cutting operations
- Basic technical drawing and can read prints
- Basic mathematic knowledge
- Basic computer skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $28.00 per hour
