Immigration Legal Assistant & Marketing CoordinatorPosition Overview
We are seeking a bilingual Immigration Legal Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both English and Mandarin and will serve as a vital liaison between our firm and our Mandarin-speaking clients while providing comprehensive administrative support for immigration matters. This role also includes supporting our marketing efforts to expand our reach within the Mandarin-speaking community.
Key Responsibilities
Client Communication
- Serve as primary point of contact for Mandarin-speaking clients
- Conduct initial client consultations and intake interviews in Mandarin and English
- Explain immigration processes, procedures, and case updates to clients
- Respond to client inquiries via phone, email, and in-person meetings
- Translate documents and communications between English and Mandarin as needed
Administrative & Legal Support
- Prepare and file immigration applications and petitions with USCIS, Department of State, and other government agencies
- Gather, organize, and review supporting documentation for visa applications
- Maintain accurate case files and client databases
- Track case deadlines and ensure timely filing of all documents
- Coordinate with attorneys on case strategy and preparation
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and client consultations
- Draft correspondence, legal memoranda, and other documents
- Monitor case status updates and communicate changes to clients and attorneys
Marketing & Business Development
- Create and edit marketing videos in Mandarin and English for social media platforms (WeChat, YouTube, Instagram, etc.)
- Draft marketing materials, including brochures, newsletters, and social media content in both languages
- Develop content for the firm's website and blog targeting Mandarin-speaking audiences
- Design graphics and promotional materials for marketing campaigns
- Manage social media accounts and engage with the Mandarin-speaking community online
- Assist with organizing seminars, webinars, and community outreach events
- Track marketing metrics and help optimize outreach strategies
Required Qualifications
- Fluency in Mandarin and English (spoken and written) is required
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred)
- 1-2 years of experience in a legal environment, preferably in immigration law
- Experience with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or similar)
- Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, and creative skills
- Familiarity with social media platforms, especially WeChat
Preferred Qualifications
- Paralegal certificate or immigration-specific training
- Experience with immigration forms (I-140, etc.)
- Knowledge of USCIS procedures and filing requirements
- Experience with legal research and document preparation
- Portfolio of video editing or marketing content creation work
- Understanding of digital marketing best practices
