Description
The Greene County Courthouse and affiliate offices require a Security Officer to safeguard the facility, its assets, employees, and members of the public. This role involves access control using metal detectors, X-ray machines, and monitoring alarm systems and closed-circuit cameras.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct patrols of the facility, process visitors through weapons detection equipment, respond to active alarms, complete necessary reports, and provide a security presence in various offices and courtrooms.
- Respond to and resolve medical or security-related emergencies within the complex.
- Assist with evacuations during fires or other emergency situations.
- Identify law enforcement officers and determine their authority to carry weapons into the Courthouse Complex.
- Monitor hearings and interviews as required by Victim Witness, Domestic Relations, Children and Youth, or other staff offices.
Duties:
- Attend meetings as required.
- Perform other tasks assigned by Supervisor to ensure program quality and requirements are maintained.
- Perform related work as required.
Working Conditions:
- Work indoors in adequate space, temperatures, ventilation, and lighting.
- Exposed to average indoor noise, stress, and disruptions.
- Normal indoor exposure to dust/dirt.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with military or civilian law enforcement agencies is preferred.
Certifications:
- Lethal weapons training or capability to be certified with a lethal weapon (Act 235).
- CPR training and First Aid certification.
