Oak Grove Assisted Living is seeking a dedicated and resident-focused Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to support the health and well-being of older adults in our community. This position combines medication administration responsibilities with direct resident care and offers the opportunity to work closely with nursing staff in a supportive assisted living environment.
The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional care while promoting resident dignity, comfort, and independence.
What You'll Do
- Administer prescribed medications under the direction of licensed nursing personnel and in accordance with established care plans.
- Assist residents with daily care needs while encouraging independence and maintaining a person-centered approach.
- Observe residents for changes in condition, medication effectiveness, adverse reactions, or concerns and promptly communicate findings to nursing staff.
- Maintain accurate and timely records related to medication administration, resident observations, and care provided.
- Follow all applicable state regulations, facility policies, infection prevention practices, and medication safety procedures.
- Collaborate with nurses, caregivers, physicians, and other team members to ensure quality resident outcomes.
- Support a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents, families, and staff.
- Participate in other resident care activities and departmental responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current Indiana Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) certification in good standing.
- Current Indiana Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
- Successful completion of a state-approved medication administration training program.
- Previous experience in assisted living, long-term care, memory care, or senior services is preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic health records and medication documentation practices is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary care team while providing compassionate service to older adults.
