What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Childhood - Teacher Assistant/Aide position at Greenbrier Manor School?
Monday through Friday, part-time and full-time positions available, 10 week Summer Camp position, June 22 to August 28.
The Manor School Teacher Assistant supports the Teacher and the Director by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. You must be able to communicate effectively, take initiative and work well with others in a team environment. Teacher Assistants are responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs under the direction of the Teacher and the Director.
Duties
- Assist in the implementation of curricular activities and encourage participation by children
- Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, organization, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
- Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
- Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to the Manor School environment.
- Follow all center policies and state regulations.
- Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Requirements

- An understanding of child development
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Must clear full background check
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma/equivalent
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a childcare setting
- College degree in Child Development, Early Education or related field
- CPR/First Aid
