Duties

• Plan, organize, and oversee weekly market operations to ensure a smooth, engaging experience for vendors and visitors.
• Recruit, vet, and coordinate with local farmers, artisans, and food producers to ensure diverse and quality offerings.
• Manage vendor contracts, set up market layouts, and coordinate logistics such as stall assignments and setup times.
• Promote the market through social media, community outreach, and partnerships to attract visitors and increase visibility.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling procedures and sanitation standards.
• Facilitate communication between vendors, community organizations, and stakeholders to foster collaboration.
• Monitor market performance, gather feedback from participants and visitors, and implement improvements to enhance the market experience.

Requirements

• Passion for local food systems, sustainability, and community development.
• Proven experience in event planning or market management within a retail or agricultural setting.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with vendors, partners, and community members.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings as needed for market operations.
• Knowledge of health regulations related to food handling is preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided.
