Behavioral Health Registered Nurse

Greenacres Residential Care
Spokane, WA Full Time
POSTED ON 7/9/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 11/6/2026

Are you a Registered Nurse looking for a Monday through Friday 9am-5pm position? Would you work well visiting different locations and delivering care and services? Do you have great computer, documentation, and people skills that promotes an incredible care experience for residents? We want you to join our team!

About the Role

We're looking for an RN who thinks critically, takes ownership, and operates with real autonomy — someone who doesn't just come to work but shows up and shows out. Help us upkeep care plans, coach and refine caregiving teams, and quality-check it to uphold location accountability. This role is as much about clinical judgment and administrative rigor as it is about hands-on care. You'll be trusted to assess situations, make sound decisions under pressure, and hold our documentation and care processes to a high standard.

What You'll Do

  • Lead resident intakes and initial assessments, using independent clinical judgment to identify needs, risks, and priorities from day one
  • Develop, update, and collaborate on care plans — proactively adjusting them based on resident progress, incidents, and interdisciplinary input rather than waiting to be told
  • Administer medications and conduct ongoing health assessments with a sharp eye for changes in condition
  • Provide crisis intervention rooted in sound clinical reasoning, staying calm and decisive in high-pressure moments
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of documentation, care plans, and processes — identifying gaps, inconsistencies, or risks before they become problems
  • Coordinate in-house and off-site medical appointments, taking full ownership of follow-through and documentation
  • Foster a safe, therapeutic environment for residents through consistent, thoughtful engagement
  • Maintain clear, professional communication across the care team, and speak up when something doesn't look right
  • Take initiative in day-to-day operations — flagging issues, proposing solutions, and following through without needing constant oversight

What We're Looking For

  • Active RN license (Washington State)
  • Ability to travel to multiple locations
  • 3 years of experience in behavioral health settings
  • A demonstrated critical thinker — someone who questions assumptions, connects the dots, and doesn't take shortcuts on documentation or assessments
  • A track record of ownership and autonomy — comfortable making decisions independently and following through without hand-holding
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, especially when advocating for a resident's needs or raising a concern
  • Comfort and confidence working in a mental health care setting
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • WA State Food Handler's Card
  • Willingness to complete annual training: 12 hours In-Service 12 hours Population-Specific

Physical Demands

  • Standing sitting, and walking as this is an in office, and in field setting.
  • Spatial awareness and skill in redirecting patient movement
  • Ability to intervene confidently and quickly in response to aggressive or self-injurious behavior
  • Accurate, timely documentation of resident departures and returns (appointments, outings, etc.)
  • Lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, bed transfers, and Hoyer lift operation as part of routine care
  • Regular need to see, talk, and hear while performing job duties

Benefits

  • Parental leave
  • Health, vision, and dental insurance
  • Employee assistance program

Why You'll Love Working Here

  • Meaningful work — what we do has real, visible impact on the people we serve
  • A growing company that genuinely values work-life balance, passion, and purpose
  • Succession planning and professional development through mentorship and educational opportunities
  • A team that operates with integrity, embraces a growth mindset, and actually cares about its people
